Braime Elevator Components Ltd., Leeds, U.K., has a patent pending on its new "Whirligig," a three-in-one target/bracket/guard available for all industry standard cylindrical or DIN inductive sensors. When used with the company's M800 Speedswitch, the speed monitoring device protects rotating equipment from dangerous underspeed conditions. The M800 sensor is bolted to the Whirligig base plate and the entire assembly bolts to the shaft of a bucket elevator, conveyor or any other type of rotating machinery. Shaft or machine vibration will not affect the sensor's performance, the company said, as the entire assembly moves with the shaft.
