MOSCOW — A symposium for Russian millers was sponsored Feb. 8 by the German milling engineering firm Maschinen und Muehlenbau Wittenburg at the Institute of Grain and Food Processing Industries in Moscow. The goal of the symposium was "to impart concrete facts, knowledge about the company and highlight MMW's activities in the Russian market," a spokesperson said.

Chronos Richardson, which supplied bagging equipment for several of MMW's Russian mill projects, was a co-sponsor.

Nearly 140 representatives of Russian mill companies attended. "There were a lot of participants who were very interested in getting more information about MMW and our know-how," the company said. "We increased our degree of familiarity in the Russian market."

The head of MMW's sales department opened the symposium by introducing the company and its mission. The head of the project department reported on several MMW mills around the world, including two current projects for wheat mills in Russia with capacities of 200 tonnes per day. A video of MMW's five-mill Syria project also was shown.
