GRAND ISLAND, NEBRAKSA, U.S. — MFS/York/Stormor recently received the Exporter of the Year award from the Midwest International Trade Association. The award, which was presented by Gov. Mike Johanns of Nebraska during World Trade Week in Omaha, recognizes the Grand Island-based company for its success in selling grain storage and handling equipment in Ukraine, Venezuela and other countries.

Don Anderson, president of MFS/York/Stormor, said the company had worked hard to develop international contracts and projects.

The company recently completed two multi-million dollar grain storage projects in Ukraine and is currently involved in a U.S.$7.5-million wheat loading facility in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela. The projects in the two countries resulted in a 46% sales increase in 1998, said Randall Van Langen, general sales manager of MFS/York/Stormor.

He said a commitment to workers and customers, coupled with a “farsighted growth and expansion strategy,” have boosted the company into a global contender in the international grain storage market.
