Jean Louis-Dreyfus dies, company offices closed

PARIS — Jean Louis-Dreyfus, grandson of the founder of international grain trader Louis Dreyfus & Co., died February 2 in Paris. In tribute to him, Louis Dreyfus offices closed throughout the world. Jean Louis-Dreyfus, a co-owner of the private company since 1940, had been its vice president since 1975. From 1967 and 1975, he was company chairman and chief executive officer (See related article, page 6).
