The world's largest floating grab crane, nicknamed the "Hippopotamus," was recently completed by Holland crane-builder Figee for the OBA bulk terminal in Amsterdam. With a 50-tonne hoisting capability, the grab crane can be used with a wide range of products, including grain and grain derivatives. The new crane will be used to load and unload large bulk carriers outside the locks of the North Sea canal at a special mooring facility near Ijmuiden, OBA said.
