Efficient new hopper retrofit

Diamondback Technology, San Luis Obispo, California, U.S., developed a new hopper retrofit for flour, bran and midds to eliminate arching and rat-holing in difficult-to-handle milling products. Unlike a conventional conical hopper, Diamondback's patented one-dimensional convergence design with side relief provides uniform, consistent flow. "Milling companies typically use vibrated hoppers to resolve discharge problems," said Jerry Johanson, inventor. "Unfortunately, unless vibration is applied at the precise position, the same vibration that loosens the midds or bran often recompact the product." The retrofit hopper easily attaches to existing hoppers.
